How could I make such a big mistake?
An act that caused this hard heartache,
The memories play back in my mind,
Keeping any other thoughts in a bind.

We were together once in the past,
Back then, I didn't care for us to last,
Without you at first didn't make me blue,
But over time, I found myself missing you.

One day, the fates had been kind to me,
Finding you had brought my heart such glee,
We had started to get close once more,
Now even stronger than it was before.

But one argument brought all that to a stop,
My pride caused the bubble of our love to pop,
By the time I realized how stupid I had been,
It was too late, I had lost you once again.

Now this hurt will always lay deep in my heart,
Stupidity and pride each playing their part,
I didn't want you and I to end up this way,
But looks like I don't get what I want today.....
